About Gail ....

Born in Liverpool, Gail had travelled around the world with her family by her mid teens as they accompanied her father whose career was in the armed forces. The family then moved back to the NW of England where Gail has since lived for most of her life.

She had a professional career in HR and Training for a variety of organisations, with a career break giving her the time to take her very first and now internationally performed and acclaimed play 'Cheshire Cats' to the Edinburgh Fringe where it was a 'Fringe Sell Out Show' 2006. It was published by Samuel French in 2011, and Gail has continued to write for the stage ever since.

Her second full length play 'Bothered and Bewildered' opened to sell out audiences in the Forum Studio Theatre in Chester in October 2014, was published by Samuel French in 2015 and, like 'Cheshire Cats', has since travelled up and down the UK and abroad. 'Bouncing Back' soon followed, premiering in Chester in 2016, published in the spring of 2017, and is now performed across the UK.

'Head over Heels', a raucous modern comedy about Silver Splitters, premiered to full houses at the Forum Studio Theatre in October 2018. Like all of Gail's plays it has since travelled up and down the UK, and is now available from Concord Theatricals.

Lockdown was a time of reflection for many people, and Gail found herself returning to and developing her unfinished script for 'Waiting', a WW2 family drama about the Liverpool Blitz. The play premiered in November 2023 in the Garret Studio, Storyhouse, Chester to 5 star reviews and full houses.

Gail is still scribbling away as she strives to further develop her skills as a playwright. She feels you're never too old to learn - and has her fingers well and truly crossed that inspiration continues to strike!
